Well I'm Shamimur Rahman currently residing in Vancouver, British Columbia. I was born in the southern city of Khulna (in my ‘nana bari’ ) but I was brought up in Dhaka. My father is originally from Narail, Jessore. Beside my parents Waliar Rahman and Momtaz Rahman, I have a younger brother named Tamal and a younger sister named Tinni.
For early education I went to Udayan Biddaloy and when I was in grade seven I transferred to Mirzapur Cadet College. Both UB & MCC had significant impact on my upbringing. I moved to Houston in early 90s to study Electrical Engineering at University of Houston. Upon graduation I worked as Systems Engineer in Compaq Computer Corporation and later in Hewlett Packard Company before I moved to Canada in 2003 for immigration purpose. The bayou city Houston has a special place in my heart as I spent a very eventful 11 yrs. of my life there.
I married Rummana Bary Ruhi in 2001. Ruhi is currently studying BBA at University of British Columbia (UBC). On 25th of July, 2004 we were blessed with a baby girl, we named her Areesha Lubaba Rahman.
